This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit our website or use our software-as-a-service platform, including our dynamic quoting widget (collectively, our "Service"), and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

This policy applies strictly to our business customers ("Customers") and their authorized users. Our Service is designed for businesses, and in the context of providing the Service, we process data submitted by our Customers' end-users ("Clients") on behalf of our Customers. When processing Client data, Squotex acts solely as a "Data Processor" or "Service Provider," and the Customer acts as the "Data Controller."

2. Information We Collect

We collect several types of information from and about users of our Service, including:

• Account Information (Customer Data): When you register for an account, we collect personal information such as your name, business name, email address, phone number, and billing information. Payment processing is handled by secure third-party processors (e.g., Stripe), and we do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
• Client Data: Information collected through the Squotex widget embedded on Customer websites. This may include property details, pricing parameters, and contact information submitted by the Customer's Clients. We process this data strictly to provide the Service to the Customer.
• Usage and Device Data: As you navigate through and interact with our Service, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including IP addresses, browser types, operating systems, and session metrics.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information:

• To present our Service and its contents to you.
• To provide, support, personalize, and develop our Service.
• To process your requests, transactions, and payments.
• To communicate with you regarding your account, technical notices, security alerts, and administrative messages.

5. Your Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA & State Laws)

If you are a resident of California (or other states with applicable privacy laws like Virginia, Colorado, or Connecticut), you have specific rights regarding your personal information. Squotex complies with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

• Right to Know and Access: You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months.
• Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions.
• Right to Correct: You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
• Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: Squotex does not sell your personal information for monetary compensation, nor do we "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Our Service is intended for businesses and professionals and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 18, depending on jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information in violation of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), please contact us, and we will take steps to delete such information immediately.

7. Data Security and Retention

We have implemented robust administrative, technical, and physical security measures (including TLS encryption in transit and AES encryption at rest) designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure.

We will retain your Account Information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, to comply with our legal obligations (for example, tax and accounting purposes), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies. Client Data processed on your behalf will be retained according to your account settings and deleted upon the termination of your account or upon your written request.

8. "Do Not Track" Signals (CalOPPA)

Some web browsers incorporate a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature. Because there is not yet an accepted standard for how to respond to DNT signals, our website does not currently respond to them. However, you can manage your cookie preferences as described in our Cookie Policy.

9. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we treat our users' personal information, we will notify you by email to the primary email address specified in your account or through a notice on the Service dashboard.
